Yapi Merkezi Has Chosen MEKA MB-C60 Compact Concrete Batching Plant for Dakar Regional Express Train Project

The Government of Senegal has launched the project of the new Train Express Regional (TER) line between the center of Dakar and the new Blaise Diagne International Airport on the purpose of modernization and rationalization of rail transport.

The contract worth €373.5 million was awarded by the Senegalese Government – the project owner, represented by the APIX investment promotion and major projects agency – to a consortium including Eiffage through its Eiffage Génie Civil, Eiffage Rail and Eiffage Senegal subsidiaries, along with Yapi Merkezi and Senegal’s CSE (Compagnie Sahélienne d’Entreprise).

Yapi Merkezi has chosen MEKA MB-C60 Compact Concrete Batching Plant for Dakar regional express train project. MB-C60 is equipped with the widest possible platforms and is one of the easiest to operate MEKA plants. Wide platforms allow easy and safe access to the main parts of the mixer and the weighing hoppers. Heavy and stable main chassis allows extreme durability, safe transportation, continuous long-life operation and sensitive weighing by minimizing the vibrations to the scales

The project entails designing and constructing 55 kilometers of the high-speed electric railway line (for speeds up to 160 km/h) with two tracks at UIC standard gauge and shifting and renovating the existing metric gauge track. Passenger and freight traffic will continue to run during the work which will involve replacing existing level crossings with 35 engineering structures (grade-separated crossings and railway bridges), moving secondary roads and building 46 footbridges.

Work on the two phases of The TER Dakar project, development and widening of the existing infrastructure between Dakar and Diamniadio stations (37 km), and the construction of a new line between Diamniadio and Blaise-Diagne airport (18 km), is to be completed in 41 months.
